Exerpt from the "Hollywood Reporter" review:
"CANADIAN BEAUTY, An Agent Must See Spoof"
                                          by Martin Grove

Franklin, an event videographer for about eight years, started out taping weddings and bar-mitzvahs and later moved into producing corporate, government and institutional videos through his Franklin Video Productions in Oak Park, Calif. "In the event field, you only get one take in most cases," he pointed out. Franklin shot "Canadian" digitally and cut the "Canadian" tape making the rounds now "on a Pinnacle Systems DV-300 Firewire card with Adobe Premiere 5.1 and PhotoShop." Like most young independent filmmakers, keeping equipment costs down was essential to him. "I have certification on Avid Media Composers and I don't really see how it's that much better than Premiere, especially at what Avids cost," he said. "All the editing and effects were done in Premiere and the titles were done in a plug-in called Title Deko."

Judging from "Canadian's" very crisp look, Franklin knows his way around the hardware and Isherwood has put together a spoof that should get her attractive foot in the door around town. A deal with a prominent Internet site specializing in short films is already in the works, she told me, holding off on the Web address until a contract is signed.
